It’s sometimes amazing to see what you can find lurking on the web. Indeed, one thing I love about freedom of expression is that it allows you to be dumb, narrow-minded, misinformed and laughable, and be a hero with it.
I’m not an atheist, but this page almost made me laugh. Actually, I never got to the point of laughing. The lecture was extremely interesting. Only a few teaser quotes: ,,Did you read that? Lennon sang, “Imagine there’s no heaven…it’s EASY if you try.” It’s easy if you try? Well, not exactly John. You see Psalm 19:1 proclaims that “The heavens declare the glory of God…” It would be very difficult to deny something that is so obvious.” Right.
Wait, there’s more. “From Paul McCartney’s praise of Roman Catholicism in Let It Be, to George Harrison’s praise of Hare Krishna in My Sweet Lord…the Beatles have brought evil to America.“ I’m still trying to see McCartney’s praise there, but the point is Roman Catholicism is evil, ok? The funny thing is, I’m not surprised Satan works continuously trying to deceive us. It would seem that there are some very religious folks here who would see Satan’s work even in their soup.
“Did you know that the ram and the goat are synonymous with witchcraft and Satan worship?” Oh my. My grandmother lives in the countryside and she has two goats. Oh my God, she’s a witch, I think I’ll burn her next time I get there, or better still, stone her to death!
Ah yes, while you’re there, go to the homepage and you will find a small GIF saying “Don’t click!” at the bottom of the page. Click on it, you will be surprised to be what a sinner you are. No, there’s no porn at the other end.
Sometimes I’m still amazed that this kind of medieval thinking has survived to the 21st century. I’ve got no problem with understanding why that whole thing is crap, but whoever writes this kind of content should be a little bit more responsible. I’m not ready to believe anything, but a 10-year old with some religious education is likely to become quite passionate about this.
Maybe it’s just me, but faith is really not about twisting the meaning of songs. Oh wait, that’s Satan works.
P.S. I though you may want to amuse yourself with other pages. Here is where you can find out that feminism (which, bear in mind, has a theology of its own! well, at least that’s what they say), homosexuality, gambling, divorce, country songs, drinking, and, yes, public schools are evil. So don’t send your children to a public school. God needs him in a Sunday School to make him dumber than his average follower. The homepage ( http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/ ) will also explain you thatthe Vatican, Harry Potter and the First Amendment are evil, while explaining how Satan has his say in the government. And you may also want to click on the “Don’t send your kids to church”, you’re in for the most interesting advice.
Later edit:
I thought you may want to see this. I received this very funny mail yesterday.
Dear alexandrulz,
I have just read your post on your blog and I must say I am very dissapointed to see yet another of my brothers fall to Satan’s machinations.
The article you are quoting is perfectly legitimate and I do not see what there is to laugh there. Satan has taunted your soul too much to understand how fairly the authors of that article speak.
John Lennon has always been associated with Satan and satanism and so have the Beatles. They are responsible for the widespread of the pop culture, along with electric guitars, TVs, condoms and other devilish tools.
I can only assume, reading your blog, that you have been tainted by the wing of Satan yourself my brother, if I should call you that way. There is still hope for you. Repent yourself, embrace God and let go of this earthly music you seem to like
To give a quick answer to you, my brother: whatever is working inside me is, most likely, reason. Reason doesn’t have any form (it certainly doesn’t look like a baphomet), and doesn’t ask for any prayer.
This “devilish music” actually happens to be very interesting in terms of orchestration. The lyrics, though sinful I guess, are insightful and profound. Isn’t fighting the sin a Christian’s mission? How do we do that if we run away from anything that the Church proclaims as sinful? Even my new recorder (see the previous post) laughs at this.
I’m sorry you do not speak Romanian fluently. For those who do, there are a couple of very insightful writings on this subject: Moartea lui Pan (Lucian Blaga) and Minunile Sfantului Sisoe cel Mic (G. Toparceanu).
All the best wishes.
